In fact are these not only for cars with screw on tow eyes? If you were to fit one to a Corsa it'd just loop around the tow eye.

Isn't that the same as saying 'don't fit a spolier unless you're going on track'? It's serving a purpose, just that it's an improvement on the standard article.
I personally wouldn't fit one but he'll hardly look like a pleb. I'd go as far to say they look pretty cool.
As said though, that's assuming it's even possible to fit one. I can't think how you'd do it.

its the one with an plastic lug with an eye would require notching and welding which is a lot of effort, just seen them going for good money on ebay so i dont know what to do yet
erm itl be going round the track at various shows next year

hm fuck that, unless there's going to be something getting in the way of the standard tow eye, intercooler or similair, just use a tow rope. It's not the type of thing that's worth that amount of hassle imo.

Get a towing pole, doesn't slack like the tow rope and folds up to put in boot.
