What ever the situation is with the Ibiza, its going. I want to go back to petrol now, as I should be able to insure something reasonably quick now.

Basically,

I want something thats fairly quick (around 180bhp would probably be ok)
Max of 3.5k
Look alright

now here is the 2 difficult ones,

Comfy but still handle
and not silly on insurance (so no imports, scoobies, etc)

At the moment I am thinking of a TT (with usual coilovers, poly bushes and ARB's to sort handling out), as the early 180bhp's are dropping to around 3k, but what alternatives are there?

Are you sure you'll be able to insure something quick now after the accident? Or are you not putting it through insurance?

between the 206 gti 180 and clio 182 i'd go for the clio.

read evo's reviews of both. although the gti is a good car, it just doesn't have what the 182 has.

Reliability which comes under the engine.
Build quality isnt too bad and its only due to the interior which i thought was fine.
The clio is tiny compared to the ctr and the 206gti and thats why i prefer being in the clio. Having only enough room for 2 people in the front, only enough room in the bay to check the main areas.
The spec is by far better as well especially if you have the ff model. Xenons, air con which is over rated and i dont know why people go on about it, a by far better trip computer as well to mention a few.

So you are saying the clio has a better spec because it has a good trip computer. The civic is really really well made, has miles better seats, is faster and handles as well. Also how is the fact a clios tiny make it better?

For around 3500 id buy the civic anyday... He wont get more bang for buck elsewhere

No i said to name a few.
Its a personal opinion. Ive came from a clio to a ctr and i much prefer being in a smaller space as i feel closer to the road with less car to drive. The clio just felt like a little gokart where as the ctr doesnt give me that same feeling.
Im considering lowering my ctr after xmas so we will see how it feels then.
