Quick question about how to get the most life out of your engine. Obviously service is regularly and oil change every 3,000 miles, anything else that you can do to make sure the engine goes on for longer. Thanks.

3,000 mile service intervals is a bit OTT for normal use?

why worry so much? service as per manufacturer guide lines. thats all you need to do. if its going to brake it will brake no matter how often you change the oil. my uncle has got a old 406 on 423k it gets serviced every year. never warmed up before driving just gets in and goes. and not one thing has ever gone wrong on it.

You should drive your car to warm it up and not let it sit on idle as it warms up quicker that way. Just done redline it untill it's at normal running temp

I read it again, it says

"Obviously service is regularly and oil change every 3,000 miles"

That means you are changing the oiil ever 3,000 miles does it not? Unless you are working in some strange base 30 numbering logic?
