just bought a corsa sri, really happy with the condition of the car, its a perfect starting point for a project, the cars immaculate but the motors done 130k its the mpi engine and i hear there pretty bulletproof but theres something up, its not giving much power at really low revs then all of a sudden the power kicks in, its quite jumpy to drive, i have to be really really steady on the accelerator to pull off smoothly. but once it gets going it pulls really well, no rattles or knocks, no smoke at all its just juddering, it seems to me like a fuel air mixture problem,
anyone know what i can check to sort it out?

heres a pic of her (and yes, i know it needs lowering)

cheers.

The B SRi only ever had the C14SE (1.4 8v) or X14XE (1.4 16v) engine.

If there's a low rev misfire/sluggishness it's normally down to leads/plugs/coil pack - all of which are quick and easy to sort.

If the engine still has the original leads and coil pack, then it doesn't surprise me at all that it's running rough - these parts don't last forever.

Could even be something as simple as incorrectly gapped spark plugs!

i took the pipe off the airbox and put my hand over the intake to block it off a bit and it seemed to make it a bit better. it seems like the air fuel mix is a bit off as when you blip the throttle it dips before it picks up
