Whats the difference, looking at double sockets and there are two that look identical but one is DP and the other is SP

At first I thought they had fucked up and it was supposed to be a Single Plug picture but the single one on the same page has DP wrote on

Single pole & double pole. Its to do with when you switch it off, sp just switches live off, dp switches live and earth off.

Not a big deal, dp will be bit more expensive, though i am replacing all my sockets soon as covered in paint / damaged, will be getting dp sockets.

So by not switching the earth off what does SP risk?

Its all to do with isolation bud. Im looking to put a security light for my driveway up so i will be installing in to my distribution board via a double pole fused spur. That way if i need to do any work on the light with it being double pole both the live and neutral are isolated and there will be no ways of getting an electric shock
