been looking at cars for what seems like forever now and like quite a few.
- renault clio 182
- honda civic type r
- seat ibiza cupra
- seat leon cupra
- fiesta st
i also like small 2 seaters like s2000's but ideally i want something practical.
my budget would be anything up to about 6k, but i want something that is fun to drive, has power and achieves at least 30mpg combined.
i also don't want it being too heavy and bulky.
this sort of counts the turbos out but i loved the power delivery in the turbo, but also love working the gears in my puma for the higher power up the rev range.
any idea's? and also pro's and con's of the above cars, cheers.
*this may or may not happen as it depends on whether we get another house or not, but i will eventually need a newer car anyway.

I think I may well get an RCZ! I was split between a RR Sport and a Lotus Elise S2 if I stay over here but I;ve fallen in love with the RCZ; I don't even care if they're a bag of shit to drive; I want one badly
which I realise is no help to you at all;
if you need some practicality as well then the CTR woudl be the choice for me.
Considered and A3/S3?

CTR based on you saying you like working the gears and the fact they're really good on petrol when driven normaly. Even when they're hammered they're not too bad.

too expensive on insurance tom. normal beemers are 2k and over. ridiculous.
andy - if i got a 182 i'm not sure what colour i'd get far too much choice.
i love silver ones with the anthracite wheels but also like arctic blue also.

oh and i also prefer the exterior of the 182 but the interior of the CTR.
seat leon cupra's look great to me both in and out but not as good VFM as the clio's i think.

Mate the boot is pretty massive it's just got a small opening.
You'd easily get a weeks shopping for a family of four at Xmas as well as some presents. Just do it. Can always sell it. They are cheap at the minute. Oh and I know a good bodyshop
although my mrs hated mine and despises the fact I want another

They're not my cup of tea but the CTR sounds like the best car suited to what you want. They're still fast when you want it to be but won't drink even when poodling, which turbo cars do. And still comfy, work the gears and get your shopping in the boot.
