Use a second screen for email, if checking a website design, I use one screen for previewing and one for designing.

Edit: Or when feeling lazy, one screen for corsasport, one screen for work

this has always facinated me, how does it work? Like how do you get something on one screen, and something on the other?

So if I've got a laptop adn say have msn on that but plug a VGA cable (or whatever it's called into the port and connect that to the telly, that won't work will it? So i could have two different things on?

You can do it with your laptop and TV. You just go in to the screen settings, dead simple

If you're asking then why did you get one?

Surely it's kind of obvious?

I asked for two because I use Labview a lot. It has one window for programming and one window for designing the GUI - it's nice to be able to have both open at the same time. Otherwise It's nice to be able to have Word open on one screen and Mendeley/A Paper/Internet/Data open on the other when writing stuff up.

Fair enough.

For me it just depends what I'm doing, it's just a spare workspace for whatever, even if just having emails opened on one screen constantly

I need to get myself an extra monitor.

Would be loads easier to compare part numbers to price lists etc.

Where's willay? Remember him posted his 4+ screen setup with a flashing light above them all

Depends what i'm doing, usually it's web/video preview in one and dev/edit window in the other. Or if it's audio based then mixer/effects panel in one, multitrack edit in the primary display.

We have some 3 and 4 way machines in our control rooms at work. Obviously they each show different screens of the plant.

I need two monitors at work, but then again for the software I use I have 2 sessions but the company wont pay the licence so we can have 3 or 4 sessions, it would make my job even easier and quicker if I could do that
