I ahve been told my ECU is an immobilsed unit, my question is which models are not immobilsed, as I have no way of getting the chip from original seller.

thanks!

Didn't think any 20XE's had immobilised ecu's

I had a late 93 one that wasn't.

Hearing conflicting things, that's the problem. I need to know code on ecu, should be 2 letters on it.

Apparently late spec Calibra C20Xe had immobiliser in the ECU.
If yours was immobilised, the EML light would be flashing when you are trying to start it.

Have you tried towing it and bump starting it??

LOL you would be surprised what towing it could do.Seen it plenty times when cars wont start.A good tow sometimes does the trick.

This

First thing you want to look at is getting your EML working. Once thats done read the codes and away you go.

I have hazy memory of having to splice a wire for the coilpack and wire it together with another one - black wire maybe

Could be complelety wrong mind

How do you mean looks wrong?

Tbh it sounds like you need to double check your wiring then do some methodical fault finding.

Your not going to get anywhere just having a crack at this then that etc.

Did you hear it running before you bought it??Or did you just take theyr word for it??

I think you should rip the whole loom out and start again making sure its wired right.
