My grandad recently passed away and just sorting everything out and im sorting out his car. Anyone know what happens with transferring ownership when the owner has passed away? I would be putting it into my name if possible for me to then sell on

Would the DVLA need to see a copy of a will (if it existed) proving the car is to be transferred to the next owner?

I thought of that but it may not be in his will. Other thought was proof of death by the certificate but then id have to prove im a family member or maybe would have to go to his so /daughter

Just fill it in as you would normally, leaving the signature area blank.
I sent a logbook off like that when my ex wouldnt sign my Saxo over to my mate when i sold it.

Just PP the signature and sign it yourself - I've sold a couple of cars that were in other names and done this with no issue (My dad and Ex GF for example)

If theres a solicitor or executor dealing with his will etc. they can sign it.
