Pretty cool if you ask me, she's over the moon with it.
It's got the exact spec she wanted, it's the 2.0 (not the more common 2.3) supercharged version, only packs about 170bhp but it's plenty quick enough for her. Drives amazingly, nothing like it's 10 years old if you ask me. Got the best interior colour combo if you ask me, AC (optional extra!), electric roof, mirrors, windows, original Mercedes CD player (a factory option and quite rare!).
Best of all it's only done 27k in 10 years and it's 12 days short of being in the rape tax band so this one is in the same band as a 1.6 Corsa
C+C, no real plans for it, it's my Mum's car so it's NOT getting 18's with rubber band tyres (she likes the balloon tyres for the ride!). Going to get her some new numberplates (ordered, say "yummy mummy" at the bottom ) and some wheel bolt caps as the bolts are a little tarnished).
Pictures are from eBay, we spent most of yesterday cleaning it, going to clay and polish it up next weekend - it was filthy in and out. Will try and get some good ones soon

not my cup of tea to be honest
i think i'd have preferred a BMW 3-series convertible, or a CLK.
Top of my list for a 2 seater conv would be S2000 , but your mum probably wouldnt like it if she wants creature comforts.
I think id even prefer a Mazda MX5 instead!
Sorry, im sure its a nice drive, but ive always detested SLK's.
nice colour tho! :-)

I said the same, or a z4 or s2k, however I can appreciate its for his mum and she wants something she likes, so fair play.
Quite nice colour Dave

Thanks matt I do like it, not a 'weekend car' but it's lovely and easy to drive.
kenny, I drove it home with her and she's never had a car like this before (She's had A-Classes and the like) so shes going "I'm a Yummy Mummy now aren't I" while I was going red-faced and holding my head in my hands Bit of a joke tbh
s4k, she wanted something small, so that knocked the BMW out really. This is a totally different class to the S2k She drove and MX-5 and didn't like the ride
Not 'missing' a kit... it's just the 'bottom spec' one (not the AMG or anything, if you can call a Merc 'bottom spec'). Personally I'd change the wheels but they're staying for Mum

SLK and the Z3 are in the same league, i wouldnt do either.
The BMW 3 isnt MUCH bigger is it? hmmm maybe it is.......
it is a different class to the S2K i agree, but with the same (if not, more) economy, and propbably cheaper in every other aspect, id S2K it anyday!
I like the gearknob on the MX5, im not sure how they drive ive never driven one, but JC hammond and may cant be wrong can they! :-)
How about an MR2? they will be classics eventually me thinks......
