was syncing my ipod to itunes and the computer crashed and when i rebooted my pictures from the ipod touch have gone! anyway i can recover??

nope have no other cpoies of these either trying to use a recovery device, well 3 and none of them will find my ipod

a crash while syncing wouldn't delete pictures from the iPod.

Mu understanding of how iPods work while syncing is that they require the data to be on both the computer and the ipod or a box will come up prompting you to either wipe the data from the iPod (as it isn't present on the computer/in the itunes library), or to end sync.
So technically you were going to lose them anyway or not sync at all.
Am I understanding this properly?
