And no it's not a discussion about warping/heat spots
i'm looking at upgrading my brakes as mine are shot at anyway,
what i wanted to know is has anyone fitted the black diamond brakes and what they rate them, im looking at the black diamond combi disks with black diamond predator pads.
do they work ok on road, what are they like on track etc?

I had Black Diamond discs with DS2500 and they warped
Also had motorfactors specials type discs with thesame pads and they were perfect.

so you would just recommend standard 'large' disks with uprated pads?

Get some OEM discs which have been grooved then some pads like DS2500

Yep, so basically what Olly said.
Are you upgrading to larger brakes? 2.0 or V6 ones?

Don't go for v6 far too heavy and pointless.

Yes 256x25mm is best for the Corsa/Nova anything bigger and the servo struggles to cope.
DS2500, braided hoses and DOT5.1 and that will be enough.

ive had the 288mm brakes before and thought they were shite. too much pedal travel and they are alot heavier than the 2.0 upgrade which i thought suited the corsa alot more

Yeah listen to people that have been down these roads before.
Best brake setup for Corsa is ATE calipers with some fresh new discs and DS2500 pads.
Don't fuck about with V6 or similar, or if you are going to spend money get some 4 pot Wilwoods or something.

I had V6 brakes on my Corsa, but can only compare them to the standard 1.6 ones that were 256x20 mm.
They were much better than the standard ones, but there was long pedal travel and they are heavy.
As said, I'd take the opinion of someone who has tried both before you make your decision.

My experience with 288's wasnt nice.
Even with goodridge flexi's they still felt shit, especially under spirited driving, it was a sort of 'oh shit the brakes have went' then they would bite.
I ran bog standard 1.6 sport brakes on my last XE, motor factor discs and pads and had no issues, even from off the clock very sharply i had no dramas.
