Yep

Sometimes they will block it if it's an unusually large amount or is trying to come from a strange source. In which case they usually ring you to double check.

If you tell them prior to it they should set it to go through ok.

Not always the case, customer services can leave a note on your account but it will be the fraud dept who will contact you. If its chip and pin you can generally spend what you like however there is always the chance of a security check, more so if its over 10k+.

Just ring them and tell them the size of the transaction and it will be authorised straight away.

I remember we done that for when we bought our first VXR, £16500 on a debit card
