I recently bought a set of Sennheiser CX300s, and was thoroughly dissapointed. The sound is tinny, absolutley no bass, and sound as if the sound is being blocked in the actual 'earbud'.
I'm looking at buying another pair, but fancy trying something different. I've got Skull Candy FMJ, and they are SO much better than my Sennheiser, although I was told the Sennheiser should be in a different league (Maybe my Sennheiser are faulty?)
I dont want to spend anymore than around £50-£60. There seams to be such a selection, and I have zero knowledge of them so really dont know what is worth getting. Does anyone here know anything about them? Whats the best of the 'budget' Earbuds?

From John Lewis in Reading. I've heard about the fake ones and I'm sure they are real.
It's strange, it's as if the sound is coming out of the rear of the headphone, rather that through the bud and into your ear

They are 100% fucked then. I've had 300's and 400's and they are both top notch. Very good, deep bass from an in ear set and the noise doesn't escape either.

Looking at these two at the moment. Both have good reviews but the Sony seems better, for far less money.

I'd recommend 400's but I'm not sure that'd wash with you

I have had 300's and the 300 II's and they have been excellent!
I think you are not wearing them properly.
choose the right fitting ear bud and make sure you really wedge them into your ear! They are not like the standard apple ones for example which just sort of 'sit' on the ear. they need to be wedged in

Yeah I found the same when wearing the wrong size buds, I thought they were gash, but the right size ones made them transform instantly! The difference was quite something.

Thanks for your help but that's 100% not the problem, there is definitely an issue with the headphones. If I put the bud in my ear, there is NO sound coming through it If I put the earbud in my ear and turn the volume up, I can only hear a faint sound, but people sat next to me can hear it clearly. It's as if the bud is on the wrong side!
Edit: Ive seen on AV forums, one person had excactly the same issue, but there are only 2 posts on the topic so it wasnt resolved...

Went for the 'V-Moda Vibe II Nero Apple iPhone earphones' in the end. Bad stories of the Sony keep breaking so gambled on these.

senneisers top of the range DJ headphones like HD25's are good SQ and SL...their earbuds are shocking. shite bass and quality overall
for my ipods/phone iv always had skullcandy FMJ, perfect for blasting music into your ears when your cycling, walking to work or generally whatever. can snap em up for 15 quid a set on ebay too..not bad to say these are quite expensive earbuds

like i said, their top end stuff is fantastic, thats why i use them but my cx 500's were shite, i used them a handful of times when i broke my FMJ's and well i binned them before they fell to bits.

cx500's are gash.
The CX300's and 400's are better!
I use mine daily and have done for years. Best value for money ever as they are always on offer on play.com. Never buy headphones from Ebay, too many fakes!
