What tyres would people recommend for a astra g gsi turbo that will be doing a fair amount of motorway miles? Got a budget of around £100 per corner. Curently my Audi has bridgestone RE040's on it and i am getting about 27k out of a pair of fronts. Looking at Goodyear F1's but i have no experience of them. What are other peoples feelings and recommendations?

I don't see the point in skimping on tyres, they are what hold you to the road

I've found Uniroyal Rainsport 2s to be almost as good as EF1s as well, they're a good bit cheaper as well

I just had to change all mine on the M5 and went for the Hankook Ventus S1 Evo's and so far Im well impressed!! Only cost me £700 for all four!
Hard to make a comparison to what was on as the fronts were Federals and the rears were Sport Contatcts but threadbare but so far they have been awesome!!

Found the eagle F1's for £372 for a set of 4 with only a small fee for fitting them so going to go with some of them i think.

Never had problems sticking to the road previously and I have used some major unknown names in the past
BM currently has some random shiz on there from previous owner and i've not had any hairy moments in the wet yet

I had Dunlop SP Sports when I first got it, then fitted F1's but found the Dunlop's a lot better.

Michelin Energy savers do seem like the type that are more to save money than to keep you on the road tbh

I got quote this for my megane at most places. I only got them for 430 after shopping on the net. Alot of places want £170 each for brand names. I think thats good value considering its 500 bhp, 200 mph car.

They were on my car before i bought them, and were pretty thin when i got the car....Anyways the guy had left a reciept for them of £600 on a 18inch rim so i think thats good value for money. Cracking tyre i thought, felt more planted than the Avon ZZ3 i have on now.

Fair enough if you're not driving to the limit of grip they'd be fine but in that case you'd probably be fine with the Nankangs anyway

No I don't drive on the limit in the MiTo, no point! But I like to know I can stop quickly if I need to.

Most places were quoting around £1100 for something like Sport Contacts, around £1300 if I wanted Michelin Pilot Sports! Car doesn't get driven that hard really so I cant warrant spending that much on tyres, I dont think in the real world Ill notice any difference. The old V12's came out pretty good in an American test on an M5 too so hopefully they will do the job!
