I have had my vintage les paul for many years now and the body of the guitar has been bashed to hell so i decided on friday it was time for a change..

went to halfords and picked up 500ml white primer, 300ml ford diamond white and 500ml laquer.

i stripped the guitar down and gave it a good sand down and primered it.

once that was dry i flatted the primer and went over parts that i hadnt covered propperly, i did it this way as i didnt want any runs and whenever i paint things i always get runs in the paint lol. once this was dry i then applied the first coat of the base colour.

my plan is tomorrow i will apply a couple coats of laquer then monday after work when its hardened i will give it a buff with the G220.

ive ordered all black parts for the guitar and i hope it should look like this when done.

Would love the 7string RG7. Will buy an old battered one one day and refurb it.

Seeing this has made me want to sort my acoustic out. It's seen better days. Black could be nice

Will it be fitted with Emg's too? I wod opt against them. They seem to drag in the sustain that Gibsons are known for with the passive pickups fitted.

Nice project mate. Makes me want to do the same to one of my guitars! Looking forward to the end result!
My grandad builds guitars for a living. Currently making a acoustic guitar out of an old whiskey barrel for a japanese business man. I have a full custom guitar as well, will post pics later.

anything that catches my ear tbh.. i think thats why ive never been as good as i should be, im all self taught so i learn a bit of a song i like them bugger off to something else.

atm im learning a lot of joe satriani stuff i went to see him in manchester last year and was AMAZING! lol

i like santana and can play along with the majority of his stuff, guns n roses aswell i like 80's rock as it actually has a bit of soul in the music.

Sound good. Same here, I've been playing around 10 years and am self taught. I've always been into metal so that's all I can play!! I learnt 'Always with me, always with you once' Nice simple guitar music but very melodic. You got any vids on You Tube or anything?
