Hello, not sure if this is the right section but here goes.

I was working for a company last year for 6 months as a self employed contractor working through an agency. The agency handled my tax and NI contributions for the period of time I was working there, the normal PAYE set up.

My question is, what is the cut off amount for me to be able to claim tax that I paid back? ie - purely for talking's sake, if the cutoff was £60,000 and everyone that earned less than that in the year got 100% of their tax back, what is the actual figure? Or is it not as easy as that?

Any help would be much appreciated

36k ish then it becomes 40% tax

If you earn more than £539ish a month you will pay tax on the amount over it
