I was looking at buying one of these 2 years ago and was just wondering how often they come around and what turbo is on them cops i dout the internals could cope with alot of boost. Also how much power would you get out of a 1.6 with a diesel turbo fitted as the boost would not be very high so it would run ok on standard internals

i made one, it broke, would i do it again . yes !

I ran standerd internals just had a spacer plate made for it, got a oil feed from back of the block, used a 5th injector, and it ran a ihi turbo from some jap car, a frontera intercooler, it worked, and it was faster than a st focus,

Until it broke which was every day nearly, good fun if you ahve the time to perfect it

2 corsa's
1 nova
1 tigra
1 astra gsi

and 1 1.6 turbo corsa,

and tbh the turbo was faster than all of them , but like i said we spent a while geting it right and when it was , it didnt last a great deal of time

im thinking of turbo'in my 1.6 8v nova gte engine, all i need is, mpi manifold, t2 turbo, oil filter relocation kit, spacer plate, oil feed and return, intercooler, rising rate fuel presure regulator...

similar for x16xe, can use corsa vxr manifold and turbo though, spacer plate, rising rate fuel regulator, oil feed and return, can use a powerbox iirc....

Luke Tomms had one years ago by Courtenay, it was ok but had massive cooling issues. He used to carry around a block of ice in a bottle to cool the turbo

more hassle than its worth. Diesel turbos are for low revving engine and for tourqe not power like a petrol turbo. As said a corsa vxr manifold and turbo bolts straight on.

Then don't do it? Taking shortcuts WILL result in it dying.

dont need to upgrade engine internals with a standar vxr turbo and SPACER plate lowers compression. Using a rising rate fuel regulator also
