bought off ebay.. 200g Fine bar delivered for £10.80 (came in two days too) I thought I'd try it out on Jo's Ford Focus Ghia TDCi as the paint works a bit bitty
I pre rinsed the car with cherry snow Foam, then washed that off with the jet wash, then re snow foamed with Turtle Wax's version of a snow foam shampoo, and washed the car with that still on, then jet washed it off. THEN.. squeegeed it and dried it all off before attaking it with the clay bar..
so.. here we are...
made my own lubricant.. water and car shampoo..
used the bread knife to cut some off..
read the instruction..
then clay bar'd away.. stuff came off it looked like nicotine
great Result after another wash to get the sediment of the clay bar off the car then I waxed it using the ProShine Spay & Shine wax polish.
all I can say is a clay bar is like using T-Cuttng on the car but a lot easier.. as you don't need to rub had, you also go in one direction too
If time tomorrow I'll do the scoob

I know!! saves the price of a bottle of Lube at £10!!
I saw a pro detailer on YouTube doing a ferrari and only used water/shampoo mix, saying you only need to lube the surface to allow the clay bar to slide.
Well it works, I bought a 1litre plant sprayer from B&Q for £1.59

I used the clay bar for the first time a few weeks ago. Time consuming but the end result is magnificent... And cleaning the car for the next few times after it comes out just as good! Nice! (Y)

WTF
I think he's got a typo, as I question it when i bought off ebay.. it is a 200g bar via ebay
I used about a 1/4 and Clay bar'd the scoob late this afternoon with the same bit I used yesterday, just re molded it and to make it into a clean bit again,
then washed off the residue after,
Only took 30mins to clay the scoob, with it being in a good state.. being almost new.. there wasn't a lot to come off it, but it's still brought the paint work like glass.
dried off then quick waxed the car up using DEMON SHINE spray. As I was loosing the day light the DemonShine has just added a lovely gloss back to the paint work, with out the need for a main wax. Pleased with the results again.
gave the engine a clean too... as hate that spay wax the dealers leave on, over time I'll get more and more of it off. a quick snow foam and jet.. then did a spray of silicone to keep it all fresh looking.

how/why does it work :S

It works by removing stuff like tree sap and iron fillings and just general shit that gets into the pores into paint that washing/polishing cannot remove.
Brings back shine to the paintwork and makes the surface smooth as glass, like it should be.
If you go out and feel your car, mainly the bonnet and roof and the lower halves of the doors they should feel quite bumpy and rough.
Clay bars smooth it out and remove a lot of ingrained dirt! Proof is on the clay once you've used it

It just picks up the dirt because it's sticky, it's like blue tack in a way

Should do mine, car hasnt been waxed in 8 years. So the paint work underneath 8 years of road dirt is quite good.
