hi recently i swaped my old engine for another x10xe and tryed to start it and it wont start, so whats happing is when you crank it sometimes it just keeps cranking and doesnt fire but sometimes it will and when it fires you have to rev it when you start it but if you try to rev it again it just dies? to keep it running you have to turn the igniton off rev it then turn it back on if that makes sence? i have replaced the crankshaft sensor from old engine to new one and still no better, just now im using the ecu off the new engine i tryed the one off the old engine and it made no differnce, ive been told it could be the ignition switch would that cause it to do this? any help would be great as i need the car running asap! cheers

had a similar problem on a old car years ago, once you stopped revving it'd just drop down and kut out, yeah?
check there's fuel getting to it as above states or try changing the sensors (air flow maybe?)

You using the original ecu, transponder and key (chip)?
Is the EML flashing? Sounds like immobiliser to me.

He say's he's used both ECU. It doesn't say he has used or knows to use both matching transponders and key chips.
Also, it will sometimes start with immobiliser and then cut out. I've seen this happen before.

Unless the original ecu, transponder or chip is duff and the IMMOBILISER is stopping it from starting.
What is your beef?

If that was the case im sure he would have said its got the same problem as it did before he fitted the new engine but from what i make out its only doing this since he has fitted the new engine so how can the chip and ecu be fucked?

But he hasn't said much at all. That's why i've asked if the EML is flashing.
He hasn't said why he replaced the original engine, it may have been because of this.
