Went into a local Vauxhall garage yesterday to have a look at the new Astra Gsi and when I actually saw it in the flesh I was suprised how much better than a standard Astra it looked. I love almost every part of it. The interior is stunning, could do with a few more tender touches as could the exterior; just 18's, lowered suspension, custom exhaust and a irmsher grill and it would be sorted. Oh and of course a stage 4 engine tune up!
I have arranged a test drive for Wednesday afternoon and I can't wait. My current car will be fully paid for in September and I was originally planning on getting another loan to pay off for some mods for it but now I think I'm gonna get rid of the Corsa and get a loan to buy one of these beauties!
I only went in to have a look at one, now I really really want one!

these things are awesome. they have got so much more sex appeal and road presence than a standard astra
they are 2.0 turbo, but are styled very subtly with a hint of agression in them. very nice indeed

The only thing thats gonna put me off is knowing that getting rid of my Corsa and then spending thousands on one of these so called 200bhp turbocharged monsters and then getting slower times up the 1/4 mile strip. They do a 1/4 in around 15.5 seconds I think as standard. Not sure what they would do with a stage 4 270bhp and 320ib/ft of torque though.

In all honesty that picture doesn't give it the justice it deserves. Vauxhall need a medal for producing this one. Far better than the Calibra Turbo IMO.

why would you want an old car, with loads of miles, with higher running costs, which will cost more to mod, that wont have the same level of equipment???
If you wanted a car just for speed and nothing else there are hundreds of other choices.
People always say you could buy this instead, and its always an older faster car.
The only really alternatives to the Astra are the focus RS or the Seat Lean Cupra R
or the Honda cvic Type R.

I don't really want to modify it. Gonna put some 18's on it and lower it slightly, get a custom exhaust then just tune it a 'reasonable' amount and sort out some nice I.C.E I want a nice luxurious car for a change and gotta be a good reliable family car!
