Tesco has become the first general retailer to start a used car buying website.
The supermarket giant claims it can offer low prices by controlling costs.
It will show detailed pictures of vehicles for sale - including any scrapes and dents - as well as a history report and fuel usage details.
It will not, however, give people the chance to test-drive vehicles. Instead, a video of the car being tested will be available for would-be purchasers.

it is good.
not sure about not test driving a car though. most people use that as a way of judging whether the cars handling/steering/seat position etc suits them rathr then just making sure the engine runs fine.

Are Tesco trying to be like Virgin?
Next they will buy Easyjet and rebrand as Tesco Travel, and the same with railways etc.

I certainly wouldn't buy a car without seeing it or even being in it whilst it's being driven.
The whole point of test drives is to get a feel for a car to see if you like it.

Tescocars.com is owned and operated by Carsite Ltd, a company registered in England whose registered office is at Sussex Innovation Centre, Science Park Square, Falmer, East Sussex BN1 9SB.
The Tesco.com Site is owned and operated by Tesco Stores Limited a company registered in England and Wales whose registered office is at Tesco House, Cheshunt, Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire, EN8 9SL.
So they can just say they are tesco ?

So they can just say they are tesco ?
Tesco do this with a lot of stuff. Basically stick their name on something and take a cut whilst another company runs it.
