long story, short.
My Passat is Pissing about...
i need a very kind person in east sussex (or that doesn't mind travelling) to help me out with getting my car to AmD on a trailer or Towing?
I dont have a car(that works) or trailer but i can pay fuel costs and obviously give the person that would be up for this mission some money too for their troubles.
The car just needs to be dropped off to AmD and thats it.
I have been to the local rentals and most cannot offer a trailer, so even if i rented a van, i would still need to rent/borrow a trailer from somewhere.
I hope someone can help.
please and thank you

Was it running ok before you changed the plugs? or you did this trying to solve the problem?

As said it could be coil pack mines had 2 replaced by me they are known for going, have you drove it since the problem started does it feel like no power is there at all? Does it back fire ? Is the engine management light on? All of them things happened to me when the coilpack went.
There are four separate coilpacks on the engines there about £20-30 depending where you go

I changed the plugs to try and solve the problem..
Basically, it was hunting slightly on idle when the heater was on... then on saturday i got back from a Tip run, and i had a spring to fit to one of my seats, so i unplugged the battery, and took the seats out, sorted what i needed to do and then put the battery cables back on.
Started the car up and it was lumpy as hell.. (my thoughts were that it was trying to get its bearings and it would be fine).
it was lumpy when trying to take it down the road, it felt like there was no throttle response, foot flat on the floor and it bogs down and then if i dont rev the car, it stalls. so i have left it and i am using the works van.
I guess you could say that it is backfiring slightly, but i am hearing the pop (back fire) through the slightly break in my exhaust Flexi (I have a new exhaust ready to be fitted)
Engine Management light is NOT on.
the only thing on the dash is the Airbag warning ( AIRBAG FAULT) i knew this would happen as for taking the seats out but this was strategic as i have the car booked into AmD and i have booked weekends for the next few weeks ( Well i did until the car went Ape)
thanks.. anything else you think it might be?

Nick... i have had so much trouble with the pricks at Whatlington Garage and that is where my troubles have started ( from them not doing work that was asked and paid for)
If you can bring VagCom to me in the next few days or weekend, and flick it through i will then know what my issues are.
most (not all) of the gents on UKPassats are useless and there is a guys with VagCom in Hailsham, but keeps pissing me about.
its booked into AmD for the 18th and i wanted them to Diagnose all faults and fix them hile i was having lunch with the fam or somthing.. i thought that would be nice

Oil around plug could be leaky rocker gasket. Assuming you didn't get oil on the new plugs electrode, then it could be coil pack as mentioned. Shame you don't have vagcom as it'd tell you, and it'd clear your airbag light too.

An ebay vagcom cable at less than a tenner is a great investment btw, especially when bastard garages charge £30-40 just to plug it in anyway

Is It a case of just buying the cable and plugging it in, or will I need software to go with it?
