Take the lid of the expansion tank and run until hot. Also put heaters on flat out. This will remove any air locks.

i got same engine pal, my fan doesnt kick in at all, its had:-

new rad
new fan switch (gm)
coolant
fan tested and ok
wiring checked with multimeter twice
fuse checked 10 times...

when it gets too hot i just put my blowers on full wack to draw some heat away from it. ne good when your in traffic on a hot day as the car becomes a swett box

im waiting for a new temp switch that goes on the thermostat housing, hopefully that'll do the job

JedDy have you done a thermostat? as mine went up to 100 and came back down after as the thermostat was opening at high temps.

Derick as said you might have an air lock, if not maybe try a new fan switch incase yours is dodgy

EDIT: or just wire up a switch to your fan so that you can control when it comes on

Right, Dont bother putting the heater on, run it up with the cap off, get it about 98/100 or whatever (Beware of it boiling coolant), turn it off, let it cool down and then put the cap on, and run it up again, Fan should kick in.

I had the same issue, it just gets a air lock and it wont move the normal way.

Neither of the two sensors on the thermostat housing is a switch, one is for the gauge, other is for the ECU, Won't help at all.

Do as i said in previous post.
