Probably get a 2002 Vert for about 10k now!?

You'll miss the turbo but the straight 6 is a nice engine.

I had an M3 Cab Individual with nearly every option ticked.
Great posers car, great straight line speed, great overall. A bit wobbly though.

Evo, much more composed and brutal power. Aggressive and fun with the rarity factor.

Problem with M3 is that everybody is buying them.

I went for SMG II for the Cab.
I wasn't trying to kid myself. I was in full operating posing auto mode
I didn't see the point in having a manual because it wasn't a car that I'd be using like a full on sports car.
Saying that, the down shifts sounds awesome when it blips the throttle.

I can't say whether its more desirable though. Love it, or hate it. Its down to your preference.

I think its an even split over the SMG box....those that have given it a go love it, folk stuck in 1983 cant see past manuals so wont have it.

Folk get their nickers in a twist about them breaking as well.....pah!

Its a great gearbox!! I loved mine.

What are running costs like? All ive done for the past 5 years are imprezas/evos. Any chance of engine/gearbox rebuilds? Ive been hit for both on imprezas £2500 and £1800 are they much more for m3s?

cheers.

M3 is thirstier than Evo. Full stop.

Not that many engine rebuilds heard of.
Some SMG failures.
Biggest service is around £800.
Rear tyres cost a fair chunk of money.
Overall, cheaper to maintain due to less frequent service intervals.

Wouldn't have a clue on the cost of rebuild.
I hammered mine with all the settings on high and it was fine. The only thing everybody bums on about, is the 1000 miles running in service. Otherwise, not much goes wrong.

Forgot to mention, SMG has launch control, which puts a smile on your face

Two very different cars there!

Why not an M3 coupe? Or is this a swap you have been offered?
