cant get the gears to line up properly looked on the computer at my work on how to set up the gears on a calibra and it sais line the selector turret at nutral and push the locking pin in but it wont go in eventualy got them to line up but it keeps slipping out of 2nd and 4th seems they dont engage fully has anybody got any ideas

When its in 2nd or 4th have a look under an see if linkage is hitting steering rack this happend on mine an wudnt go into them fully.

thanks for the replies it is yes hitting would it make much difference if i fight a short shift linkage at all?

When a put a short shift on mine an it was fine after gave plenty clearence a used the lmf one but think you can get the origional modified

you have to cut one of the sections and ad a 5mm piece of metal and weld it back together. easier, quicker, more reliable buying on for the job mate

I'm confused.

Mine has been extended by previous owner, I did have 5 gears and no reverse.

I'm not using a spacer on rear mount.

Just been offered linkage that hasnt been extened, but using a short shift, would this do it

i had all the gears but it kept on popping out of 2nd and 4th every time i wanted to boot it
