Right so, I started refurbing my alloys today, but I couldn't get the valves off. Tried for a while but got annoyed so just worked around them.
Is there an easy way of getting them off? Or am I just missing something?
Any ideas would be appreciated, want to get them sprayed tomorrow afternoon hopefully.
Cheers

take a razor blade to the mushroom part of the valve that sits inside the wheel.. just take most of it off so it will fold in on itself. grip the valve with some mole grips and pull it out.. new ones are pence

Ah cheers, I'll give that a go in the morning, I just tried pulling at it with the pliers and tried prising it with a screwdriver.
Tyres are already off and when I get my new tyres fitted they put new valves on aswell.

yeah.. i understand the need to take them off for a refurb aswell, easy done with a stanley blade though. we have a tool at work that screws down onto the thread then levers against the lip of the wheel to pull it up and out. piece of piss

I'd say that would be a handy tool to have. Bought the wheels a few months ago and bought 4 new proxies, but wanted to spray them black while they don't have tyres on.
First time doing it aswell, hopefully get good results!

As said above just cut the big round bit that sits inside the wheel, it will come out with a gentle pull then. Chances of you having metal lined valves are slim on a road car.
