For Xmas i got a driving experience.

First of all i have to choose a car DB9, 355/360, Gallardo or R8? Help?

Also there is a choice of 3 locations. Leicestershire, North Yorkshire or Warwickshire.

What would be the likely track at these locations?

Anyone done this experience?

iv done one up here on my 21st, drove both....

the scooby was great fun, but the f 360 was wack due to the duel brakes and a gay ass passenger. took me 3 laps to get used to the paddle gears aswell and by then only had 2 laps left.

got a passenger lap in a bmw m3 with a "trained professional". great fun but wouldn't pay for it out of my pocket

Having done a day with a Lamborghini , Ferrari, and db9, I'd highly recommend the db9.

Far nicer to drive around.

whatever sounds the best, you wont be allowed to really push any of them so speed isnt so much of a factor

I had a TT V6, S2 Elise, and an F355 hitting the limiters. Instructor even took the piss out of me for not pushing it before I did.

going by what iv heard, and assuming they will probably be over cautious for insurance reasons, i imagine this is part of the insurance terms tbh

150 quid or whatever for the day wouldnt even cover the excess if they just let anyone come along and rag it to death and bin it

Warwickshire will likely be Kenilworth, track next to Prodrive offices/buildings. Was there a few weeks back, was allowed to push the DB9s but not to the limit. The Gallardo's/Murcielago's appeared to get the most death out on track. Plus they were the loudest things there amongst 430s/911s/VXR8/DB9s/Vantage, even with restrictors on the exhausts.
To be honest, I was more impressed with being a passenger in an X-Bow; stupidly quick!

actually i do have first hand experience in some form, when we were invited on an experience day for the new golf gti mk6 before it was launched, we were asked to test it on track with an instructor and were barely allowed to push it

Id hate the drive back after one of these, even a "fast" car would feel slow and poor.

I did one of these for my 21st birthday day and it's exactly what it says it is an experience you will never be aloud to push then hard as if there going to let people they have never met before hammer a super car. I drove an Ferrari 360 spider , Audi r8, Mitsubishi evo, Subaru impreza. You was aloud to rev the evo and Subaru more as they aren't worth as much but I had a good day

I recently did this, drove the Gallardo. Takes you a lap to get used to the track, then you gradually get faster. Only complaint was the guy wouldnt let me go into 2nd gear! Still hit 130 down the 500m straight he was encouraging me to floor it so was still good fun. The DB9 looked slow and the 360 was paddle shift. There was a 911 turbo there too which was quick.

Done one at Silverstone for my 21st. 3 laps each in an Exige, 911 then a 355. As long as you prove you aren't a complete twat in the first few laps the instructors let you give it plenty.

i've done 2.

1st was driving the porsche cayman and ferrari f430 scuderia (amazing).

2nd was driving the porsche cayman and aston martin v8 vantage.

they took me round in a mazda 3 mps first which was also nice.

wouldn't pay full price for one, but definitely good as a freebie.
