Had it about 8 years so its done well.

Presuming its a no brainer to buy a Blu-Ray player as replacement instead of a normal DVD player?

Blu-Ray Players also play normal DVD's yeah?

So....any reccomendations?

Under £200. (ideally £150 mark)

Dying off for people who have cable or infinity perhaps, but for us poor sods still on copper ADSL that is a pipedream

I've got copper ADSL and haven't bought a dvd for years and years, even back when I was on much slower ADSL than now.

As long as you don't want to watch the film right now 700mb DVDrips don't take that long to download, even on a slower connection.

I downloaded a 1.5gb rip in 35 mins last night on a lowly copper line. Would have taken me longer to walk down to HMV and get the disk.

We haven't bought a DVD in months (if not years). I can't even remember the last time we watched one of the DVDs we own!

We either watch films on TV or make use of Orange Wednesdays and go to the cinema.

I wasnt talking about illegal downloads, I was talking about using a proper dedicated service that you pay for

Same principal applies, just depends on the quality.

Going to a shop means moving from your chair, not easier than downloading.

Quicker depends on your connection and how far away from the shop you are.

Surely, if you wanted to stream a 1080p film you would have to wait overnight for it to buffer so you could watch it without breaks though?
