Most shortsighted comment ever

Paypal payments from credit cards count as general purchases so no charge.

Paypal always comes up as a purchase. I believe you can transfer from your credit card into your bank account for a fee but only be charged your standard interest rate (i.e. 0%) with some cards. Could come in useful if you were to buy a car I guess. Need to read the fine print though...

So Ben G you have waded in in that other thread about loans and mortgages and stuff yet you have bought all your furniture with a credit card??

and paid it all back within the interest free period. whats wrong with that?

cost me nothing extra.

i also put my car insurances on there also, then pay back within the 0% period and get charged nothing.

if you don't pay it back then yes, you are fucked.

but i am comfortable to be able to put a bit away every month and pay it off.

and loans are different. i don't really like loans because you have no interest free on them so always pay back more then it cost to take out.

good if you buy a car or something that will appreciate though.

if he has no outgoings like a mortgage then yes save up.

i put away 1.5k a month when i lived at home.

my outgoings are now almost 2k a month so it's impossible for me to save up a hefty amount nowadays.
