Had the ps3 on before watching a film and after about an hour it turned off. No lights or anything, not even the red standby one. Had to unplug it and plug it back in to get it to power up again then 5 minutes later it did the same. Left it unplugged for about half an hour to cool down thinking it may be overheating (it's sat on top of my bt box and was a little warm) and then it worked again for half an hour before doing it again.
Any ideas?

Anyone I know with a 360 has had at least 2, most have had more. This is the first problem I've had with the ps3 since I bought it on release day

switch it off at the switch on the back. hold the eject button and flick the switch again, it'll power up and go into a cooldown mode. once its done it will beep. switch it off and back on at the switch again

Duno, I've got the George forman grill ps3. Might still work if you switch it off and on at the socket
