Have tried the tutorial of this and i still cant get my gears fixed when i put it in reverse 5th gear is there?

Also pushing the button on the gearbox is very stiff should it be like this?

Almost like its seized :S

Wee yellow button that you have to press to turn the joint that joins into the box

You dot have to press it :s
You have to remove it, and insert a drill bit

I like doing it the old skool way, some1 in the car trying it and me underneeth with a spanner and adjust it till it works lol

yes u press it in darrell but u have to turn the fork at the same time towards passenger side

Right I was pushing it towards the driver side thought it was anti-clockwise? Suppose its different the way you look at it ill have a go later anyway

Tried it many times well on my own lol

The best I got was 5 gears and neutral no reverse tho 1st was in reverse lol

Anyone know were the wee chrome bar that goes into the gearbox should be when its in reverse?

I'm so confused.
Pin gearstick to left
I remove plug on top, twisted fork until drill bit went in that hole, which locks in place.

Nipped up pinchbolt under car

on an early gearbox yes. later ones you dont need a drill bit

Its a 2000 sxi so your probaly thinking of an earlier gear box as said
