Well my 1.2 8v engines shafted so thinking on going for a 1.4 8v engine is their much work involved in this and was also looking to put a derv gearbox in has anyone tried this and does the gearbox make much of a difference?

1.2 to 1.4 should be a straight swap.

Might as well bang mpi in there while your at it.

hard to find a mpi to be honest i just need the car to drive do you know wat all is needed for the swap or should it just fit with out changing brain and all that stuff.

Think the derv gearbox is just an f13
