Alright folks. After a few honest opinions on what my golf is worth. Cant afford to insure both my corsa and golf because i cant use my no claims discount on my corsa because its on the golf, and i need the 3 years no claims on the corsa so i can actually afford to insure it. Soooo as much as it breaks my heart,i think i might sell the golf.
Heres a wee spec followed by some pictures:
'95 Golf Gti 16v Black 5 door
Done 142000 miles now
6 Months MOT and 11 Months tax
Runs sweet as . . . Has never let me down.
Had a new cylinder head, timing belt, water pump etc etc last january.
Had 2 rear wheel bearings, tyres and brake pads on it last mot.
Lots of service history and receipts to back up.
Its lowered on coilovers,Hella front lights, subtle back box.VR6 Alloys and Full VR6 Leather interior which is mint!
Bad bits are rust bubbles on the bottom of both the drivers and passenger side front doors. Nothing Major. Paint work is good for age although there are a couple of dark laquer patches Bird shit marks on the bonnet. Again barely noticable.
I would really be after around £1000. Reasonable? Let me know and give reason why. ( please no smart arse comments)
Cheers.
These last 2 you can see the rust bubbles on either door.

1k is pretty reasonable tbh.I would be trying it at around 1200-1300 though with it being the rarer 16v.Most are 8v's,

Aye I've not looked at any for sale in a while. Theres alot of dog 8v's out there, i went to cardiff for this one,one hoor of a trip but it was worth it. Alot of the 16v's were going for 1300-2000 varying on different mileage. Although the mileage is a bit high on mine it does have tons of service history and reciepts. Plus the new cylinder head and everything else. Thats the reason i bought it!

I would even stick a set of standard Gti headlights on and sell the Hella Twins.
Mileage dosn't seem to put people off when it comes to VW's.

I think you have to have both policys with them. I had my LET corsa insured by them no problems so I cant see a redtop being a problem for them. I was paying £650 with all mods declared (uprated performance, coilovers, brakes etc)
