Mine are drilled and grooved. When I say drilled I mean dimpled as holes right through can cause the disc to crack under high heat.

I think it's the pad that determineds better braking not the disc.

Cheapo solid (Vented obv) disc. Groves just wear pads and drilled as said causes cracking.

Then decent pads, What you chose is personal preference.

Last 3 cars had drilled from factory and have never had a problem with cracking!

Drilled look the best too

Solid(vented). Buying drilled grooved discs is just fashion, save your money and spend it on pads instead, this is where you'll notice the difference.

Grooves actually help cool the disc and sweep the pad face. I'm not talking about the silly 40 grooved cheese graters. I'd run a sensible 6 or 8 groove vented disc each time.

grooved is supposed to stop glazing of the pad and drilled is supposed to help heat dissipation.

your best looking at some decent pads.

ive had my ds2500's on grooved discs for 2 years and they are just over half worn so dont think that getting grooved discs are going to kill your pads in a matter of months.

Prefer Grooved and good Pads myself

Not much of a fan of Drillings, but my setup came with Grooves and full Drillings and I didn't have a choice about them. They have done a few track days and been put through some work and haven't' failed on me! No cracking between the drillings either...

I think they tend to cast the holes in 'proper' 'drilled' disks to prevent cracking.

Never saw the facination with drilled or grooved discs. Just replace with standard vented discs and uprated pads such as DS2500

grooved never been a fan of drillled,
grooves help clear any dust, gases and shit from the contact area thus better braking

and the main reason i have grooved to go on when i can be botherd

solid. I have grooved and noticed no difference.

I also use the ds2000 pads and prefer them to ds2500 because they leave less dust.

thats not entirly true is it, there is a reason race cars use vented/grooved discs.. but in a general road application id agree with you in regards to not noticing a difference.

Drilled discs do not help keep brake temps down. This is just marketing bull.
A friend of mine has a Bentley GT Speed, it weighs about 2.5t, 500+hp and is fitted with solid(vented) discs. Anybody who thinks fitting drilled discs to any car, let alone a Corsa, is going to give any sort of noticeable improvement in brake performance is sadly mistaken.

not on a road car, wont notice any difference, as Chris said some applications can be beneficial in race cars but then as they arent on the brakes very long they can take the heat and the brakes never really get a chance too cool down all the way before the next corner.
