hope so mate me and the misses insure the same car but on seperate policies

Last i heard it wasn't. Invalidates the
insurance as you could go and purposely
crash and claim on both policies.
Insurance companies wouldn't know
what one to claim from.
I could be wrong.

I thought you couldn't do this either? Someone wanted to test drive a car I was selling before and the only way he could test drive was to insure it, but his insurance company wouldn't let him as there was already a policy on the car.

More than one policy can cover a car, but you can only claim on one policy. When I bought my first Ibiza, I insured it despite the owner still having cover on it.

Apparently it is illegal according to Direct line although they could not provide me with the legislation that its in.
