im planning to convert my corsa 1.6 sport to a c20xe
but im unsure of how to go about with the changing of the v5 doc's
does the engine number have to be changed on the v5 before the conversion , and or is it legal to drive the car with the new engine until the v5 comes back changed ?
any advice would help

legally it should be changed before, but you could fit it then drive to your local dvla office with logbook and engine bumber and they will swap it there and then for you.
to be honest though aslong as its insured correctly, i would drive it when its done but send the logbook away(not like your dodging any tax savings etc, as the 1.6 is same cost as 2.0)

cheers mate , its goin to be a summer project anyway ill probably change the v5 when i get the engine + then once its in , itll just be a case of sorting out the insurance
