I finished the converion on sunday, it started first time sweet as a nut, i let it run up to temperature ect a few times then i left it for a few days. Then i fitted my gear linkage on tuesday tried to start it and it wont fire it just turns over and over!

It's sparking fine, there's fuel at the rail and i've checked the pump, its got a new ignition amp module, i also tried a different coil but still nothing.

Its got the "TWAG" loom conversion with the eml switch, so i turned the switch on and it read 2 codes 21 and 31 iirc, so i used the website "Topbuzz" to find out what the codes where and they were "TPS" and "CRANK" sensor. I dont think a TPS would stop it from starting? so i bought a new crank sensor as the old one looked a bit naff anyway.

Fitted it today and still nothing is there anything else i can try???

Thanks for any help!

He means CTS as in coolant temp sensor mounted on the thermostat housing.

cheap enough to replace and if bust can give similar symptoms to what you describe. Also check for continuity in the loom at the cts connector as they are prone to breaking there.

Mine wouldn't start when the cts failed.

If you have fuel and spark and that still doesn't work the next step would be timing and compression checks.

I've got a new cts and the one that goes next to it, i've pressed the valve on the fuel rail to get the air out, knock sensor seems fine, i havent done a compression test yet but its been fully rebuilt and was running perfectly.

I've also checked the timing and is dead on!

im running out of ideas now

Did you manage to get fuel out? IIRC the xe fuel pump only primes when cranking so crank and press nozzle instant or get a friend to do at same time

check the small earths on the fuel rail they normally cause this from porly fitted connections.
but you say you got spark and fuel? is your air flow meter plugged in properly and no leaks in the pipe between flow meter and throttle body?

I've earthed them to the trottle body I think, the afm is plugged in properly and there's no leaks on the pipes, yes I think the loom is the right way round as it was running fine for a day, which one goes to knock sensor? Is it black? Then the red goes to icv??

Thanks

Yeah red is knock sensor, seen this happen so many times... causing them to either run shit or not run at all

Tps wouldnt cause it not to start, it would cause it to bog down when opening the throttle i think

When you said it came up with the fault code for the crank sensor, they all do that if the engine isnt running when you do the test.

If its deffo getting fuel and spark then id just suggest going through the sensors one by one. Compression test could be worth it but if it ran fine recently then i think its unlikely to have suddenly lost it.

Is it trying to fire or is it just cranking and theres no sign of life?

Its just turning over and over mate, if I tap the throttle it will back fire very loudly some times, I think I'll just go through all the sensors and see what happens.

Thanks
