Lowered ones, the rear beams fuck up on them when they are lowered more often than not.

Check for leaky sunroof/ariel base.

They facelifted the 106 range is 1999/2000 (you can tell as the clocks changed from analoug to digital and the seats changed slightly).

The TU 1.4 engine is alright, known for a bit of a shitty idle so don't be put off by that.

Genuinely, why would you get one? They are dog slow and normally command a decent fee for such a car. So much better motors for the price

You'll know if the sunroof or ariel are leaking because there's a good chance any central locking it had won't work

Drop links, exhaust, box, rear axle bending, gear linkage, driveshafts and the usual stuff.

I had one. Good wee cars but can have a fair bit of problems.

Rear beam play if lowered, track rods, leaky sunroof/ariel/door rubbers, Top mounts. Basically all suspension components. They've very cheap to put right tho.

The thing is... Would you have one over a GTi? You can have one for the same price. I know they look better than a VTR but I'd have one of them before a Quiky anyway!

this ones completely standard. owned by an old lady.

eck, the reason i want one is because its a small engine, reasonable looks and good for the money.

cheap insurance too which is a bonus.

VTR's are cheap insurance too, and a far better car to drive.

I like them but they don't half go for a lot, most are £1,500+ for a standard one with under 100,000 miles
