Had a text saying he was taken to vets as he was being sick lots and pooping out some orange coloured goo.
Vets couldnt do anything for him but also couldnt diagnose what was wrong so they had to put him down.

RIP 5 year old Toby the Shih Tzu

was my first dog.. am well upset.. didnt think i would be but he was awesome. f**kin crazy but awesome

Horrible having a dog put to sleep. Mine was old but still didn't make it any less painful. My dog is only 4, I'd be in bits if she was ill.

well if i went to the hospital with weird symptoms and they couldnt immediately diagnose it i wouldnt be put down would i? id be suffering for a bit while they tried stuff to make me better.
with animals they never seem to try and just put them down its shit

i was a bit shocked as to how fast the vet suggested putting him down, probably for the best though to stop him suffering.

for the last week he really hasnt been himself so should have known something was up

Sadly the NHS doesnt cover animals and not everyone is a millionaire.

yes they dont just do it you must have had a final say they usually give you your options which are something like
1. we put him to sleep
2. investigate more and medicate at X amount of cost
3. take him home

anyway dont want to turn this into a bitchin thread as i know stuff like this is hard to deal with

me to its a horrible day saying goodbye but also i havent come across many vets who put them to sleep to easy end of the day if your unsure about things like that a 2nd opinion would confirm things. time is a healer though and eventually another pet will come about

totally agree. If the vet told me he didn't know what's up I would of simply taken dog to another vet untill one knew what was up. No way would I have dog put down if he didn't know. I've had two put down and it's not nice. Alsations back end went and just dragged it'self n other kept tippling over
