Has ever had a bit of welding done?

Reason i'm asking is i got my VTS welded in the boot/rear arch joins for its MOT.
And a plate on a sill.

Sunday night my skirt and arch flew off, recovered in one piece minus the arch lining.

Today i bought new clips and stuck it on had a peek around where the arch liner used to be and noticed it had been covering a hole below the ECU which i knocked out to a fist size, and a similar sized hole in the single skin above the chassis leg.

My mates a good welder and can do the car in his work at the weekend for £75, including checking the other side and doing any required work there.

Is it going to be a cunt to sell with all the welding done or should i cut my losses and strip it.

put arch liners back in after its been welded and job done, any one asks you never knew about it.

I see it as a bonus point. Your forgetting some saxo are 14 year old now, and they are bound to rust. If its been repaired its fine. If you mention nothing about rust, i would think it is rust and he is hiding something.

I would assume it on anything of that age.

I would guess most Corsas have had the front legs done, my GSi did have and it didn't worry me.

Necessity to weld doesn't mean the car needs scrapping, it just makes keeping it on the road a bit less sensible in terms of cost. But if you can get it done cheap enough then sound.

And if i get it done should i mention it when selling or leave it until they discover it?

I would mention it. People assume cars like that need work (because majority of them do), so if you can say, 'all rust has been cut out and re-welded so no work needed'

They are common for rust under the Ecu anyway,so any1 looking for 1 with some knowledge,will know to look theyr.

If its a good enough job,i wouldn't worry about it.

As long as its been done to a good standard it will be fine.

I'd much rather buy a car that has already been welded than one that needs a load of welding done.
