Will be impressed if you make the pub although i suppose it depends on the hernia with regards to pain. I had a inguinal hernia op a few years back and the pain was horrendous; could barely sit up let alone walk. After about two weeks i was hobbling about but still in a fair amount of pain. It was a few months before i was walking/driving around and a further few before i was completely pain free (although i still get the odd twinge/ache from the scar tissue, usually when it's cold).
