Mondeo vs. Insignia/Vectra
Astra vs. Focus
Corsa vs. Fiesta etc.

What do you actually prefer to drive?

Maybe you're right, didn't think of that as I haven't been there.

How has Vauxhall got 107 votes with only 20 thread views?

Cant compare with driving them etc. But generally I prefer Vauxhall. Ford maybe has the upper hand with the RS slightly though

Normally I would have chosen Vauxhall but based on reliability experiences with two Fords we have owned so far (a Mondeo and a Cougar) I have chosen Ford...

It's not that I don't like Vauxhalls, I really do, but at the moment I like Fords better.

Wouldnt the focus st be equivalent to the vxr?

All/ most vauxhall cars of the same era seem to drive the same, and the engines have a weird sound as standard

both as good as eachother i think, i'd happily drive either.

pointless posting on a vauhall forum though as people will just say ford are shit rust buckets which drive shit, even though they've never driven one and just go on what their mates dog said.

I've voted for Ford on my base of family ownership. My mom has a Fiesta Ghia on a 1999 plate and has owned it for 8/9 years now, with (touch wood) no major problems, just some surface rust on the rear doors coming through now. Whilst i've owned 5 cars in 4 years of driving. 4 of them Vauxhalls, my first Corsa B was a heap of shit (what happens when you buy it off a mate who's mechanical skills aren't great, plus had chassis rott), then an ok Corsa B until head gasket went twice due to failing thermostats. The a Corsa C which was HPi clear but oviously had been in an accident from bad repairs when I took the front bumper off, and my current one has gone downhill since a garage fucked it up and it also has chassis rott for a 2000 reg. I do like Vauxhall's, and would love to own a Holden HSV Maloo. But from experience on reliabilty of my Vauxhall's against my mom's Ford's. The Ford's have won it. :/

But in all fairness, I think there close too call. As we have Ford's at work for company cars, and I feel my mom's MkIV Fiesta has moor space in it, then the newer and bigger sized MkVII Fiesta's. Can't fit shit all in them, compared to the Corsa D.

But me, i'm more a VAG man anyways.

The doors on my dad's 02 reg Mondeo are rusting whereas my doors are fine.

Vauxhall 1 - 0 Ford

Such as the mondeo tdci lx estate? and the 2.3 ghia galaxy? or a titanium x tdci kuga?

No i think your basing your 'fact' on a puma/fiesta. And maybe a focus. Nothing else particually stands out?

Also i dont think you can say 'which is better, vauxhall or ford'? There are too many cars in the range to choose from to give an overall answer.
