Had a fantastic long weekend at the Ring. Weather was perfect, really hot afternoons for extra grip

We even went out in an M3 Ring Taxi which was out of this world! 160mph and parts of the track with some high speed drifting thrown in for some fun! The driver was in charge of M Power testing for BMW, he really knew how to drive! Also went out on a closed track so we had the whole thing to ourselves

Lots of very fast cars there and quite a few crashes!

Chuffed to bits with the corsa, just shy of 1000 miles in 4 days, with 4 laps of the ring pretty much flat out and the only thing that went wrong was the gear linkage got funny when the car got very hot. I lost the top part of the box (gears 1, 3 and 5) It happened twice and fixed itself both times. Anyone know what this could be?

Chassed an M3 for the most of a lap and a scirocco TSI couldnt get past me The powerflow sounded amazing flat out with, even better when it was red hot!

Bring on 2012!!

Maybe your clutch cable might need adjusting for the gear prob.

Yeh the FKs are good, car handled superb on track. Stuck to the corners really well. I bought the car off wilson and he has had them for a few year iirc.

Phil - When I had it in 4th and 5th had gone, I could move the gear knob nearly into 2nd and it would stay in 4th. Really weird. I know the boxes are very tight but I could stir it like a bowl of food!

your gear problems are most likely to be(through my own personal experiance)

the rubber bush in the centre of your shifter that sits on your gearbox gets hot and causes a jelly like gear feel- to fix get a nylon insert from lmf.

this is why when it cools down you can get gears

Jealous . I'm going next year for sure. Glad the corsa behaved. Looks amazing.

What birchieboy said about the gears sounds spot on

Yeh that was me! My other mate went with his clio 172 cup. Dont think I saw your mini, but then again there were so many cars to look round!

The ring taxis have just changed from the M5 to the M3. The driver preferd the M3 too.

Think they are those special edition orange ones with the boot spoilers now from last time we were there. Run by a different company too iirc

Corsa looks good out there :thumb:

Yeah same livery as before, just M3's

One of them was drifting, the other wasn't.
