Anyone been? Where is good to go?

Looking for a week with sun, sand and some nightlife if possible.

Ideally staying in a villa or similar, but would consider a hotel.

To make up for the fact that I was being relaxed and sunny all week while you guys were working, I’ve brought you back some rather nice local(ish) biscuits – in the kitchen, so please do help yourselves

Does that help?

Four Seasons Gresham Palace. Epic hotel.

I was only there for 1 night in the end (was supposed to be 2 but it got cut short) so all I did was walk up and down the river a bit to take some photos.

My uncle has an appartment there. My 3 cousins are flying back from there today, I'll ask them where's good.
They love the place and always go over there.

I've tried persuading the missus to go but she won't entertain Eastern Europe as she is from that part of Europe and only really wants to go to the Southern side of Europe

Been to Croatia a few time and absolutely love the place. First couple of time we stayed in Dubrovnik which has something for everyone and the weather is red hot in the summer months. Hotel we stayed in was called the Dubrovnik Palace and would happily recommend to anyone.

More recently me and the missus bummed round the Dalmatian Islands for a fortnight just stopping in BnB and the like eventually ending up in Hvar where we pushed the boat out a bit and stayed in an absolutely stunning hotel called the Hotel Adriana.

If you're looking for nightlife I would probably recommend Dubrovnik or Split, however Hvar can get equally lively on weekend as a lot of the wealthy Croats have holiday home on the Island.

If you're looking for a nice relaxing holiday with absolutely no hassles I'd recommend any of the populated Dalmatian Islands, some of the most beautiful scenery and friendliest people I have ever encountered

Also dont expect beaches like here in the UK, most are entirely made up of rocks and pebbles with very little, if any sand.

My favourite place in the world (probably). Been a number of times like Moe and will be going again next year.

I've done the same as Moe around the Elaphite Islands in Dalmatia between Kolocep, Sipan and Lopud. Then spent 10days on Mljet which is an island which is entirely National Park Status with the most amazing Lagoons and scenery.

Awesome place, lovely people.

Dubrovonik is stunning too

It's like Greece, I don't know why that surprises me seeing as it's practically next door. I guess it's just that when you used to see it on the news it was all about people being shot in the woods.

There are some fantastic villas in Dubrovnik. Not sure if the lack of sandy beaches puts me off or not. Is that throughout Croatia or just in Dubrovnik?

throughout Croatia to be honest, I found a couple of small ones on the islands but nothing of note and possibly man made - the sea's are so clear though - brilliant for snorkelling/scuba etc

Stunning region best places to go imo Dubrovnik or Pula. Pula has a very well preserved Roman Amphitheatre think the Colosseum in Rome.

yeah me too ed. When I went travelling I just ignored anything which told me not to put toilet paper in the toilets. Had to push my business down the hole with my foot once in asia.

So is that the situation in Croatia? or have they learnt to build sufficient sewage systems to handle a bit of paper going down.
