I've had enough, dads away so got a week to myself so I'm going to go to Germany for a break and camp. Last week I visted Remegan which was good, next week I'll visit Malmedy and Bastogne on my way.

Anyone who has experience as to what I will need to take? I'm going to get a tent and stuff from Halfords, what are the pop up ones like? Double skin? Single skin? Sleeping bag?

I only do "posh" camping. Electric hook up, tent you can stand up in and walk around. Separate living and sleeping areas.

Fridge, kettle, toaster, lights, electric inflating double bed, gas cooker etc.

All you need is a tent, something to sleep on and a torch. If its sunny you will be awake at about 6 sweating your tits off.

Get a double skinned one, book a camp site with decent facilities.

Get one that is at least bigger than the bed your going to sleep on. I always used to take my duvet camping, hate sleeping bags. It's good fun if the weather is good, BBQ on, beer, banter.

Is there a Yeomans near you? They have loads of tents and camping gear. Better than the crap you get in Halfords.

The popup ones are shit. It'll never go back in the bag. You want a rubber mallet for tent pegs and a pulled to get them out the ground again.

Shitloads of food/drink, alcohol hand rub, baby wipes.

I would of thought camping would of been right up your street.

Did you not used to go off with your mates camping or building shelters in the woods to sleep in when you were a kid?
