I didn't think it was free

Step 4 says 'Make Payment': https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta/

It's not that much I don't think. I'm going to sort mine out soon for my trip to Vegas.

Florida is awesome, i want to go back

It's worth remembering the reference number. As if you go again in the 2 years you will need to enter that number.

You can log back into the ESTA site with your passport number and date of birth iirc to get the info again.

Hate all this bollocks that you have to go through when going to the USA. The other thing that gets me is before you get on the plane a private company pre screens your passport - god knows what info they have access to

when i was passing through heathrow on my way to atlanta a couple of weeks ago the woman at the desk checking boarding passes started giving me hassle because i didnt have a printed copy of my esta with me. she done it to a few people actually.
when i was doing it last year it said on the site that you didnt have to bring it with you.. when i told her this she gave me a "i'm right your wrong.... your lucky i'm letting your through" speech

Yeah this whole ESTA thing pisses me off with the USA.

As said, used to be free, now chargeable.

I also didn't like the stupidly long queues for passport control at Atlanta, and them treating everyone like a piece of shit TBH.

I just printed the confirmation page as it has the number on it. They recommend you keep a note of your confirmation number just in case so just print it and keep it with your passport.
