Wanting to get more power from my little 1.4 as im keen on keeping tht engine instead of putting in a bigger one any suggestions on good performance mods?
Was thinkin a chip,cams but not sure wht kind are best suggestions needed thanks

power box..... 4-2-1 manifold...cams...remap

or throttle bodies if you have deeeeep pockets lol

and after market managment...

How much power could i get out a x14xe wi cams remap a 421 n different management? Rufly tht is ? See if its worth doing was stil thinkin about an old 2 litre 8v if it cums dwn ti it

depends mate maybe 120-130 bhp ???? well if you get a c20seh its 130 bhp out the box c20ne is 115bhp out the box

both of them are 2.0l 8v

Get a power box, best mod on them engines. Then get it chipped to let it rev a bit higher.

de restricted inlet.

cheapest iv found b.new is £150ish

after one myself

anyway, this is the one im considering getting when i got some b££ns unless a better 2nd hand one pops up, dont think you'll get a new one cheaper

Powerbox is just a Helmholtz plenum...

ive got a 1.4 sport and the ebay inlet made a good diffrence to mine ideally need mine chipped now to get the best from it though.

yeah well i wasnt sure on where was best to get a chip? seen a few on ebay but not sure what theyl do bar fuse the fag lighter or headlights or sumn haha

When you put a powerbox in i presume the MPG will fall to the floor? Or does it not make too much difference?

Good manifold....powerbox.....cams.....good set of tyres.....strip it out (its free)......good bore straight through exhaust......good induction kit and cold air feed

but if you got money then engine work port and polish.....big valves...etc etc loads

Speaking from experience it's a waste of money, will never be that quick without spending 000's.....Use the money that you would spend to stick an XE in it and insure it.

Tbh was jus wantin ti keep th 1.4 n get it a bit quicker n then once im happy with body work and handling then do a conversion but pretty sure il be goin for. Let whn tht day comes

spoke to someone yesterday with a 14xe and his only mod was a inlet box, claimed he has a print out of over 106bhp wich is pretty good for what they are, add a 4 branch, set of cams and a map should easy get a lot more than that

throttle bodies and your onto a winner
