Will the speedo only work with a mechanicsl Ak transducer? Or will it work with an electric transducer?

Don't understand what you mean. But you will need a transducer for the gearbox speedo pickup yea. Need to find a blue and red wire. Either run a new one to the transducer if it was a cable speedo before. Or you can find the existing blue and red wire if it's a electric speedo before.
