ok i know it's fine with engine block and gear box, but i was considering painting the manifold... might be to hot?

Block and gearbox will be fine  Wouldnt do the manifold with it though, you'll need some decent very high temp paint for that.

as said, it will just burn off the exhaust manifold unless you get proper high temp stuff, i wouldnt reccomend the clear lacquer high temp spray though, it goes a horrible yellowed colour after a short while and looks dirty all the time

Best thing for exhaust (As I've proven) is BBQ paint, Mines been on for a few months now, only come off in one area where it wasnt wire brushed properly.
If you mean inlet manifold, be fine!
